Blog

Thanks Everyone!

We wanted to kick off our new blog by giving a huge thanks to the whole team who worked on Kitty Is Not a Cat (KINAC for short).

After work on Kitty Season 3 drew to a close, the KINAC team strayed from their usual job descriptions and used their creative minds to think up some new Kitty content. This gave us a chance to witness the wonderful breadth of interests and skills that our team possessed.

We’ll have a close look at each project as time goes on but for this week we wanted to showcase the KINAC Minecraft (MC):

Kitty Is Not a Cat Minecraft World and Skins

by Jesse Zhang and Erika Wu

This small team of animators clearly plays a bit of MC in their spare time. Jesse and Erika took an architect’s approach to the game by drawing floor plans of the KINAC mansion before laying down any blocks. Careful consideration fussed with their MC prowess resulted in an incredibly detailed and polished rendition of the mansion within the confines of MC. There are rooms to explore, records to dance to, red stone contraptions to trigger, and easter eggs to find. I especially enjoyed the mouse holes and tunnels.

But what would a mansion be without cats?

These animators have drawn up their beloved KINAC characters in an MC appropriate pixel art style to create wearable Minecraft skins. Some of the characters look spot-on in their Minecraft form, some were just not suited to the blocky look. Weirdly, it’s the ones that almost look a bit off that I like the most.
